Anonymous (2011) - GOOD MOVIE
"I, once gone, to all the world must die." – William Shakespeare,
Sonnet #81
"Anonymous" is a story that accounts the theory that William
Shakespeare did not write all the works credited to William
Shakespeare. Instead the true author is Edward, Earl of Oxford, a
nobleman of the court of Queen Elizabeth I. It is known as the
Oxfordian Theory and it is a real theory.
Maybe, it is not a
masterpiece, maybe a terrible insult to our sacred knowledge, but,
like a drawing by a child, in few parts, it is touching.
Overall, "Anonymous" is an interesting and entertaining film that will
get people talking about who the real author of the plays are. The
least anyone would get out of it is two hours of a fun "what if?"
scenario. The performances by the cast is what really makes the film,
though. If it wasn't for the cast, the film wouldn't have worked.
