Birdsong (2012) - BAD MOVIE
What a wasted opportunity. That should have been a fantastic 2 part
drama. But it so wasn't. I could have spent that 3 hours ironing. Or
sleeping. Or staring deeply into my lovers eyes trying to find the
words to... to.. to... OH FOR GOODNESS SAKE!
The story was laid out so badly, you don't know how one character got
to the place they were in a relationship, and there was no build-up
whatsoever. Scenes jumped back and forth and there was no logical
sequence of events. It's
also full of idiocy. Soldiers in the tunnels wear full kit despite the
heat and enclosed space. The lovers leap straight to oral sex (in
1910!) in a Bad Sex Award-winning performance. The protagonist acts
like an ass (drawing his revolver on a subordinate, psychologically
tormenting a man caught sleeping on duty).
In summary then, one to avoid and read the book instead.
